Message From The General Secretary

Dear Member,
Established in 1979 with the objectives of promoting Indo-UAE friendship, providing educational facilities to the children of Indian Community members and providing assistance and distress relief to the community members in dire need, Indian Association Sharjah has entered the 44th year of its glorious service. It is a matter of pride and honor that thousands of our community members could be served over the years and our help and support has reached to thousands in UAE and India..

IAS members’ welfare and health care has always been a priority to us. Medical Insurance, Medical assistance to members, Health Care Medical Camps, Awareness Programs, Seminars etc. are regularly conducted for the welfare of the members. Distress relief to the members is still another part of our service.

Indian Association Sharjah works in close liaison with the Indian Consulate, Dubai and the Embassy of India, Abu Dhabi. The help and support they provide us is our great strength and energy. It gives us more potential to take up the cause of the community and provide help, support and assistance. Our Association provides attestation service with the help of Indian Consulate at our premises on Fridays. The BLS International counter at our premises provides passport and visa services and the Bank of Baroda ATM in our building is a great convenience to people related to monetary transactions.

Our Sharjah Indian schools are the bedrock of our community, nurturing young minds and shaping the leaders of tomorrow. Sharjah Indian Schools cater to the educational needs of more than 16,000 students. It is the only community school in the region providing quality education at the lowest fees. Sharjah Indian School at Juwaiza caters to the needs of Boys of Grade 1 to 12 whereas the Sharjah Indian School at Ghubaiba provides education from kindergarten to Grade XII.

To uplift and transform our educational system into a more professional and dynamic entity, a set of goals that will redefine the educational experience for our students:

  • Enhanced Academic Excellence: We will continue to implement innovative teaching methodologies, focusing on interactive and experiential learning. The goal is not just to impart knowledge but to instill a passion for learning that lasts a lifetime.
  • Technology Integration: Embracing the digital age, we have plans to invest in state-of-the-art technology to create a dynamic learning environment. Smart classrooms, online resources, and e-learning platforms are integral parts of our educational system
  • Teacher Training and Development: Our educators are the pillars of our educational system. We will continue the existing training programs and will invest further in continuous training programs to empower our teachers with the updated pedagogical techniques and technologies, ensuring they remain at the forefront of education.
  • Holistic Student Development: Education extends beyond textbooks. We are focusing on nurturing the holistic development of our students, promoting extracurricular activities, sports, and cultural events that enrich their overall experience.
  • Building a strong bridge between parents and schools is crucial to establish transparent communication channels to actively participate in their child's educational journey.
  • Community Outreach Programs: Our commitment to social responsibility extends to the broader community. We will initiate and participate in outreach programs that contribute to the welfare of the community, fostering a sense of empathy and responsibility among our students.
  • International Collaborations: To broaden the horizons of our students, we will actively seek international collaborations and exchange programs with reputed educational institutions, providing them with exposure to diverse perspectives and cultures.

Together, these goals form the foundation of our mission to elevate the standards of education within our community

Sharjah Crematorium in Sajja, constructed by Indian Association Sharjah, in the plot of land graciously donated by H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohamed Al Qassimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah is another land mark achievement of Indian Association Sharjah. Constructed for the Hindu/Sikh Community, Sharjah Crematorium now serves the deceased of other nationalities also.

All festivals of India such as Eid Al Fitr, Eid Al Adha, Christmas, Onam and National special occasions like Independence Day of India, Republic Day of India are celebrated by the Indian Community together under the banner of Indian Association Sharjah. Fraternity is the message behind all these celebrations. All Indians join together and celebrate the various occasions with brotherhood and oneness irrespective of the differences of language, culture or religion.

Promotion of Art, Literature and Culture is taken up by Indian Association Sharjah with due importance. Various dance groups, singers, poets, dramatists and writers visit the association. They present various forms of art and promote culture and provide entertainment to the people. Various types of cultural events are held here as part of the occasions of celebration. Renowned artists in various faculties are brought to the association to present the different Art forms which provide visual and intellectual treat to the community members.

Indian expatriate Community looks to the Association as a center of care, assistance, support and entertainment and relaxation. The dedicated Management of the Association is always at the service of the needy and deprived. The tremendous support the beloved members of the Association gives us is the driving force behind the success story of IAS.

As we embark on this journey, I am confident to achieve our goals with your support, dedication, and the collective strength of our members. Let us pledge to work hand in hand, nurturing the dreams of our children and fostering a sense of unity, pride, and achievement within the Indian community in Sharjah.   • Comprehensive Member Welfare: Members of the Association enjoy a spectrum of welfare activities, including medical insurance, health club access, shuttle badminton games, medical camps, and health awareness programs. In every dealing, there is a commitment to transparency and collaboration, with strict financial discipline serving as the backbone of all activities.
  • Educational Excellence: The Sharjah Indian Schools, the largest in the region, have played a vital role in providing affordable quality education to expatriate children. The association's cosmopolitan ethos fosters unity among diverse sections of Indian society, celebrating various festivals with a sense of oneness
  • Community Services: The Association extends diverse community services, including a crematorium accommodating various nationalities and an additional Cremator for expedited services. The recent establishment of an embalming facility in Sharjah reflects the association's dedication to serving the community.
  • Cultural Hub: Serving as a hub for art, literature, and music, the Indian Association Sharjah hosts cultural events in its Community Hall and Conference Hall. From classical to folk and modern dance, the venues showcase performances by maestros and skilled artists, ensuring a diverse cultural experience for its members
  • Finance Control and Vigilance: Emphasizing the need for more clarity and scrutiny in financial control, the Association ensures diligent monitoring by my humble self in all dealings at the association and sister concerns. Strict financial discipline remains a guiding principle.
